We bought this gorgeous property with the intention of bringing our expertise in business and hospitality to life and share this beautiful view with all of you! The newly renovated property combines the heart of the Caribbean with modern luxury.

Just a short 12-minute walk from your room – Swim in the Caribbean Sea, let the breezy trade winds blow your hair or enjoy one of the many water sports offered at the beach clubs! Let us know which beach club you'd like to keep your feet in the sand at and we will make a reservation for you.
Dine at one of the many gourmet restaurants in the village right near the beach across from P'tit Casino, the little grocery store. Depending on the evening, the village has live music and a beautiful artisan market with locally made handicrafts (every Wednesday through Friday, weather permitting). Each restaurant has a unique cuisine from Brazilian fare, Italian, Asian fusion and of course, delicious traditional French. Let us know where and what time you would like to dine and we will happily make a reservation for you!
Even though it’s only 37 square miles, the island is part Dutch (Sint Maarten -- the main airport is here), and part French (St Martin – Esperance is here). There is an open border, so you can cross easily and without issue.
Americans, Australians, Brazilians, British, Canadians, and those from the European Union don’t need visas. There are other countries that also are visa-free, but if you have a different passport then you can contact us for more information. If you are flying into Princess Juliana Airport (SXM) you will need to fill out the entry form available at entry.sx and every traveler needs to fill out the entry form.
Climate: St Martin has a tropical climate. There are cooling trade winds year-round which benefit the Guesthouse.
Currency: Almost everyone on both sides of the island will accept US dollars. The euro is the official currency on the French side. The Dutch side also has its own currency, the Caribbean Guilder (XCG). Most major credit cards (Visa & MasterCard) are widely accepted throughout the island.
Language: The official language on the French side is French, and French is widely used. English is widely spoken on both sides of the island. Dutch is used for official purposes in Sint Maarten.
Voltage: At the Guesthouse you will find both US plugs, with US voltage, and European plugs, with European voltage, for your convenience. There are also USB and USB-C outlets on both sides of each bed.
Island Heights is located in Orient Bay (Saint Martin) about 30 minutes from Princess Juliana Airport (SXM) and 10 minutes from Esperance Airport (SFG). We are in a gated community with 24-hour security.
Taxi: A taxi for 2 people costs about $40 USD (over two people and they charge by person) from Princess Juliana Airport (SXM). There are taxis waiting outside of the airport. We can also arrange a taxi for you in advance if you prefer. Please email us at contact@islandheights.com so we can make a reservation for you. A taxi from the French side airport is about €10.
Rent a car: We do have parking on site at the Guesthouse but it is limited. Please let us know if you rent a car so that we can reserve a parking space for you. If you need a recommendation, please email us at contact@islandheights.com and we can give you a discount code with one of our preferred partners.

The facility is not designed to accommodate people under 18.
Island Heights is not clothing optional. However, one of the world’s most famous naturist beaches is located on the southern end of Orient Bay, including its own bar and restaurant, The Perch. Options are available for groups who book the entire property, please email us at contact@islandheights.com to inquire about these.
Check in begins at 3pm. If you plan to arrive after 8pm, please let us know you will have a late arrival so we can be sure to meet you. Check out is at 11am. If you arrive before or after these hours, we are happy to secure your luggage while you enjoy the Guesthouse amenities. There are outdoor showers to use if you need to rinse off before leaving for the airport!
We accept: • Mastercard & Visa (all credit card payments will be processed in euros) • Wires into our French account • Euros • US dollars (the exchange rate is subject to change).
A €100 deposit is taken upon arrival. All final payments must be settled prior to departure.
Island Heights offers two different types of booking:
- The nonrefundable rate cannot be refunded for any reason.
- Refundable bookings can be cancelled 72 hours before check-in, i.e. 3pm three days before your arrival.
